Stoneware, satin black-bronze glaze, polished bronze.

These boxes were born from the intentionally meditative studio practice of making sculptural bowls. Carved from a block of clay, the ceramic components of the pieces are first created and finished, followed by hand-sculpting of a wax piece to fit nestled into the carved-out form in the ceramic. After the wax piece is completed, it is cast in bronze and polished. Over time, the bronze will take on a natural patina or can be kept polished.
